News has come that Canadian theologian Clark Pinnock died on August 15, 2010 at age 73. (HT: Greg Boyd).
I’ve written briefly about Pinnock before , but do want publicly to voice my appreciation for his career, despite the fact that I have moved theologically further and further from him. I realize that many evangelicals perceived him as a theological enemy, but many others learned more about what it means to be a theologian through his dogged determination to continue to pursue the truth about God in Scripture. Though theologically, Pinnock did not interact much with Karl Barth, they were similar in that both sought to “begin again at the beginning” in their theologizing.
Thanks, Clark, for your faithfulness to Christ, and for all that you did for the theological scene in Canada and beyond!
